Mr. Baxter (Tom)
St. Columba parishioner since 1959. Mr. Baxter started serving on the altar in 1963 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral downtown where he went to Catholic School and at St. Columba (then known as St. Edwards). Mr. Baxter has continued to be involved with the Altar Server Ministry since then (55 years at St. Columba alone!). Mr. Baxter believes that the experiences he receives through the Ministry has deepened his beliefs in the Catholic Faith and brought him closer to Our Lord. In the years that Mr. Baxter has been on the Altar he has assisted many Priests, Deacons, Monsignors, Bishops and even a future Cardinal! Since 1991 Mr. Baxter has been the coordinator and trainer for the St. Columba Altar Server Ministry – he loves sharing his experiences with all boys and girls The St. Columba Altar Server motto says it all: “The St. Columba Altar Server Ministry develops personal growth and a solid bond with our Catholic Faith through our actions and in daily life”
