Mrs. Tracy Lunn
Welcome to our 8th grade class web page. A little about myself. I have been in education for 25 years, lucky enough to teach every grade from kindergarten to eighth grade. I am a graduate of USC. I am a HUGE Trojan fan! I love everything USC. Go Trojans! I spent 5 wonderful years there, and left with a Business Degree as well as a Teaching Credential. Math is my love. I also enjoy everything science. You can’t believe in God without seeing everything beautiful and scientific that God has created.
I am new to the Catholic church. I went through RCIA four years ago. I love being Catholic! I am excited to share my beliefs and God’s love with you.
I have been married for 25 wonderful years this November. My husband’s name is Brad. He graduated Law School with Honors at USD. I’m very proud of him! Together we have two handsome, athletic boys. Troy 20, and Connor 17. We are all very adventurous and love any activity outdoors. If I’m not at work you can find me on the baseball field cheering on my son, Connor, who attends Cathedral Catholic High School he will be a Senior this year…yea! If it is sunny outside our family will be sailing, kayaking or biking.
I am excited to be here at St. Columba, this is my second wonderful year being apart of this fabulous St. Columba family. I believe God has sent me here. I am honored to be chosen by God to be your teacher this year. Together we will learn all the wonderful 8th grade treasures and get you ready to conquer High School.
This is a fabulous year, one to be enjoyed and remembered for a life time. You are the big Kahuna’s of the school, the leaders of the pack, the PRIDE of our school! I am honored to be your teacher during this journey. Let’s have a fabulous and blessed year together! We will go on several fun and educational trips together this year. I am most looking forward to our Washington DC trip in April, over Spring Break. Below you will find a link to the WorldStrides web site that is supporting us and making all of our travel arrangements for our Trip. This year we will also tackle Catalina Island in May with the CELP, Catalina Educational Leadership Program, a link for that exciting trip you can also find below under class links. You will find several pictures from many of our adventures from last year on this web page. Here is looking forward to an exciting year with many new experiences to behold and captivate us!
8th Grade Resources:
This year in Science, you will be studying about the physical world – matter and energy. The periodic table will be studied as well as an introduction to chemistry. We will expand our horizons and take a venture out to the galaxy that surrounds us.
7th Grade Resources:
This year in Science, you will be studying about living things. What makes a living thing living? What structures are they made of and how are they organized? How do organisms interact with each other and their environment? How are traits passed down from one generation to the next? How do organisms change over time? We will search for answers to all of these questions together focusing on the theme of Sustainability – living in and caring for our environment.
