Welcome to St. Columba Preschool!

The mission of St. Columba Preschool is to provide a quality child-centered education based on the values put forth by the Gospel and established in the Catholic tradition of St. Columba’s parish family. By providing a caring nurturing environment, we seek to develop in children a love of God, a sense of spirituality, an appreciation for the community, and a continuing respect for themselves and others.

Each teacher is highly dedicated to the development of young children and has completed recommended early childhood education courses required to teach.

  • Curriculum

All aspects of the curriculum are designed to support and achieve our goals. Children are encouraged to listen, touch, smell, taste, and observe in the process of learning. Experiences are provided in the areas of math, science, music, art, dramatic play, language, and literature. Opportunities are provided for the development of large and fine motor skills.

St. Columba’s Preschool incorporates a religious curriculum with a hands-on developmental program based on a weekly theme. The theme is integrated into various parts of the curriculum.

St. Columba’s curriculum embraces the development of the whole child. Activities include art, science, math, literature, language arts, music, dance and movement, nutrition, dramatic play, physical motor skills and cognitive skills, with an accent on Kindergarten readiness.

  • Philosophy

St. Columba Preschool is a faith community of children, parents, and teachers working together to provide parochial education in the Catholic tradition. The mission of St. Columba Preschool is to provide high-quality education based on an integrated curriculum approach. Values encouraged in our classroom setting are derived from the Gospel. By providing a caring, nurturing environment, we seek to teach children about God’s love for them and their love for God. A sense of spirituality and a respect for themselves and others is fostered through unique classroom learning experiences.
