Jesus our Redeemer and King, we praise Your Holy Name and thank you for the gift of our children. Be with us as we share your love with them and in doing so increase our faith. Help us to share with joy all the blessings You send. We ask this through Jesus’ name, in union with God our Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
PRAYERS: We ask that you please keep in prayer the Oliva family (Alexis 7th & Max K) their grandfather passed away on Friday, after a long illness. We also continue to keep in prayer all our families and extended families who are experiencing difficult times. We also give thanks in prayer for all our many blessings.
MASS: We welcome you to join us for our all school Mass Friday, June 1st at 8:15 am. We will have a special ceremony recognizing our Student Council Officers. Students need to be in formal dress uniform.
8TH GRADE GRAD WEEK: This is a very busy time in the lives of our St. Columba 8th graders. Starting Thursday, May 30th the 8th graders start their journey to graduation week. We send them off wishing each student a happy and successful high school years and an abundance of God’s blessings.

MEMORIAL DAY: In observance of Memorial Day Monday, May 28th school and preschool will be closed.

Once again a big thank you to Ms. Navarro, Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Fairchild for organizing our sports banquet. Thank you to Cheryl Jones (alumni), and family for their time and dedication in decorating the hall for this special event. Thank you to all the coaches who volunteered their time to make our sports program happen, and thank you to all the students who participated in sports for the 2017-2018 school year.
FIELD DAY: Once again we will be holding our field day Monday, June 4th starting at 10:30 with lots of fun activities for grades K through 8th. Students need to be dressed in their PE uniform. If you can help, please contact Ms. Navarro.
LIBRARY BOOKS: Reminder: All library books that have not been returned need to be returned as soon as possible. You can drop them off in the school office.
RE-REGISTRATION 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR: Reminder: We still have a few families who have not registered for the 2018-2019 school year. Registration helps us to plan for the upcoming school year and to budget accordingly. Please contact the school with any concerns.
NO JUNE HOT LUNCHES: Reminder: Since there are no hot lunches for June, please make sure your child has a lunch. Thank you.
COLUMBA’S FEAST DAY CELEBRATION: We welcome all our families to join St. Columba’s Feast Day Celebration June 9th for a free BBQ in the school courtyard after the 5:30 Saturday Vigil Mass, and on Sunday after the 9:30 Mass we will celebrate with cake in the parish hall.
“SHARE THE JOURNEY”: Share the Journey is a collaboration between Catholic humanitarian agencies like Catholic Charities and Catholic Relief Services. St. Columba will “Share the Journey” by holding a drive to collect small household and personal items which will be donated to the Catholic Charities Office of Refugee and immigrant Services. Items needed: Hygiene items, cleaning items or miscellaneous items. A collection bin will be placed in the church vestibule from June 3rd through June 10th. You may also drop off items at the rectory. Please note: we cannot accept furniture, appliances, clothing or food. Look for the flyer coming home today with your child.
