The St. Columba School and Church have come together as one parish to create an amazing Fall Festival this year. With plenty of fun and entertainment to enjoy, this family friendly event will be the perfect way to enjoy a nice October weekend with the whole family.
St. Columba School Fall Festival
Kicking off the weekend, we are hosting an Oktoberfest dinner on Friday night starting at 6pm. With an authentic German meal and great Oktoberfest brew this is a great way to get out and enjoy a night on the town.
Then on Saturday we’ll kick off the family friendly festivities at 12noon for a day filled with great bands, games, a talent show, and food from around the world.
On Sunday, the Men’s Club will be hosting a Pancake breakfast starting at 8am and running to 11am. Father Ed will be officiating an outdoor Mass at 9:30 and welcomes everyone to stay for the Festival after mass. The festival will kick off again at 11:00 for more fun, entertainment, and food!

Octoberfest 2017 Beer Brewers’ Competition
You’re invited to enter the 1st ever St. Columba Beer Brewers’ Competition! Whether your brewing method is soaking loaves in mugwort-tempered pottery, or fermenting with gold flakes and preserved cobra, this is the pageant for you. Get going with your grains – brewing takes about 4 weeks.
Give your beer a name and win celebrity status at our St. Columba Octoberfest on Oct. 13th. You can still participate even if you don’t brew. All Octoberfest attendees (over 21) can taste and vote on their favorite beer. The recipient of the most votes wins an engraved trophy beer stein. See attached flyer for more information.
If you plan to enter your homebrew, plan to provide 3 gallons and please email Maggie at email@example.com
First Annual Pie Baking Contest
Are you known for your apple pies? Do you get special requests to make them every year because they’re just that good? Then we think you’d be a great fit for our first annual pie baking contest!
The contest will take place on Sunday, October 15th and pies will need to to submitted by 12noon for judging at 2pm.
The rules are simple:
- Your pie must be from scratch
- Apple must be the primary ingredient (but a combo of ingredients is ok)
- It must be a pie (no cakes or other baked goods)
Call the school office at (858) 279-1882 to enter your name in for the contest or for more info. Only a select number of pies will be allowed to enter so call now to reserve your spot!
To ensure your pie isn’t missed, call now to get on the list!
Want to help out in other ways?
Here’s a few things we’re still looking for this year:
Baked Goods for our Cake Walk –
If you love to bake and want to help keep our Cake Walk stocked all weekend, we’d love your donation of baked goods (clearly marked with any allergens) on 10/12-10/13. Simply drop them off in the kitchen and label them Cake Walk so we know what they’re for!
Confetti Eggs –
As always, we want to keep our Confetti Eggs booth well stocked! And that means we need your help! We’re asking that each family contribute at least 2 dozen confetti eggs this year.
Please clearly label your box of eggs with your last name and child’s grade.
A special thanks to our sponsors!
We are so grateful for the sponsors who have shown their support of the St. Columba Parish by donating to our Fall Festival.
Would you like to become a sponsor for this year’s Fall Festival? Fill out this form and email it to Danielle Simmons at firstname.lastname@example.org (or drop it off in the school or parish office).
Thank you for your interest in our Fall Festival! We cannot wait to see you at our event!
