October 7th is the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary and the month of October is traditionally the month of the rosary. It is during this time that we come together as a school and pray for our families, community, and peace on Earth. During the school week each grade prays a decade of the rosary each day. On October 30th, instead of regular school assembly the student body will form a living rosary. We welcome parents to come and join us for this special prayer service in our courtyard.
St. Columba has further extended its IXL resource support program for the Middle School Science curriculum. This program will assist the Science teachers to align their curriculum with the new NGSS Standards for Science. All students have access to this Science tutorial program with the same log in information that they have been assigned for IXL. We have seen a lot of success with the students who are frequently using IXL. We look forward to seeing the same results from its Science version.
St. Columba’s school and parish community have been putting forth countless hours into organizing the Fall Festival. This festival is one of our biggest fundraisers that generates good revenue to allow us to maintain our facilities, improve curriculum, and strengthen our budget. We depend on the support from our families to volunteer for this event so that it is a success. Due to the fact that all parent support is needed for this long weekend, St. Columba needs all its families to sign us for at least one shift. If you have not signed up to volunteer, you may do so by contacting email@example.com or contact the school office.
On behalf of Fr. Ed and the entire St. Columba faculty and staff, I thank you for your continuous support towards helping us make your child’s elementary experience a rewarding one. We look forward to seeing all our families at the Fall Festival.
